Notix
Migrate

Migrate to Notix without stopping sending.

Bring your contacts, unsubscribes and bounces across, convert your send code, add Notix to your domain beside your current provider, and move your volume over four weeks. Your old account keeps working the whole time.

Unsubscribes first, then contacts, then lists
Providers

Where you are migrating from

Three providers we read for you with an API key you paste. The rest migrate by the CSV files they already let you export. Each guide has a code converter, the SMTP and webhook names side by side, and the price.

Any other provider

Every provider exports a CSV. Upload your contacts and your unsubscribes and Notix imports them in the same safe order. Tell us where you are coming from and we will help.

How the migration goes

Your old account keeps sending the whole time. You switch it off at the end, not the start.

  1. Day one

    Connect or upload

Paste an API key, or upload your contacts and unsubscribes as CSV. Nothing is written until you have seen what we found.

  2. During the import

    Unsubscribes first

Every unsubscribe, bounce and complaint is written before the first contact, so nobody who opted out can be emailed from Notix.

  3. Same day

    Switch your code

Convert each send call with the converter on your provider's page, or point Resend and SendGrid calls at the compat API and change nothing yet.

  4. Before you send

    Add Notix beside your provider

Publish our records alongside your current provider's. Both keep sending; DNS has room for both.

  5. Weeks one to four

    Move your volume

Go from 15% to 100% over four weeks, so mailbox providers see a sender that grows steadily. Switch the old provider off at the end.

Your code

Two ways to move your sending code

Convert it

Every provider guide has a converter. Paste the send call you have today in Node.js, Python, PHP or cURL and read the Notix version, with anything that has no Notix equivalent named underneath. It runs in your browser and sends nothing.

Or keep it, for now

Notix accepts Resend's and SendGrid's send request as it is. Change the URL, use your Notix key, and existing code keeps working while you migrate. It is there to get you migrated, not to build on.

The compat API: the only lines that change
- https://api.resend.com/emails

Safety

Two rules the migration never breaks

Unsubscribes come first, always

The import writes every unsubscribe, bounce and complaint before the first contact. That order is enforced by the importer, not by a setting: a person who opted out at your old provider has to be unable to receive mail from Notix even if the rest of the import fails halfway.

Anyone on that list arrives as a contact who is already unsubscribed.

Suppressions before contacts

What happens to your API key

If you connect an account, the key is held sealed for at most an hour, and deleted when the import starts or ends. It is never written to our database, never logged and never used to send email.

Notix only reads with it. SendGrid lets us check that a key is read-only, and we refuse one that is not. Resend and Mailchimp keys usually have full access, so make a separate key just for the migration and delete it when the migration is done.
